Loki is puts her bike away and walks over the schoolyard to stand and wait on her usual spot. As soon as as the bell rings, her son comes happily running up at her. ''Hello, sweetie! How was your day?'' She asks as she holds his little paw while walking back to her bike. ''Fun! We learned to count to ten!'' He replies. Then he starts to count to show his new skills. ''One, two, three....uh... five?, six... seven?...nine? Ten!. He forgot some numbers, but Loki claps for him anyway. ''I'm very proud of you, sweetie!'' She smiles. ''Oh, oh! And we made paintings too. Look, Mama, I made this for you!'' Matthias replies. Loki takes the painting from Matthias to look at it. She can't exactly make out the random colorful shapes but she loves it anyway. ''It's you and me, in a flower field.'' Matthias explains. By taking a better look at the shapes on the lower part of the painting, she realizes that she's indeed looking at flowers. Loki praises her son's artistic skills too and gives the painting back to him to hold, then she picks him up to put him in his seat behing her.

Back home, Loki swaps Matthias's school uniform for his own clothes, and then takes him to see the ducks at the park. She took a bag of cooked peas with her so Matthias can feed the ducks. She sits down on a bench and watches Matthias, who returns to her so now and then to get more peas. ''Mama! Can I get more, please?'' Matthias asks when he returns for the fifth time. Loki looks in the bag, which is empty. ''Oh-no! It's all gone. The duckies ate everything already.'' She says. Matthias's face turns sad and he turns back to the ducks. ''But they'll be hungry.'' He says with a saddened voice. Loki smiles and points at the pond. ''See that green part there? It's duckweed, and the duckies love to eat it. There's enough of it, so they won't go hungry.'' She explains. ''But, why do we feed them the green thingies, then?'' Matthias asks. ''It's just like a snack or candy to them. They don't NEED it all the time.'' Loki replies. ''I like candy!'' Matthias says as his face brightens up again. ''Oh, I know you do, sweetie. But just as the duckies, you don't need too much of it!'' Loki smiles. Matthias giggles and takes a seat next to his mother. They're both admiring the view of the pond and the trees in silence.

Once back home again, Loki is making dinner and Matthias is sitting on the sofa watching cartoons. But, as soon as he hears a car coming closer and parking in front of the house, he quickly flees to his room. Xynos enters the house and sits down in his lazy chair. He grabs the remote to switch channels while he sips from his beer. ''Dinner is ready.'' Loki says from the kitchen. Xynos looks up at the ceiling and loudly yells something at it. ''CECIL! FOOD!'' Matthias nervously comes down the stairs and takes a seat next to his father. ''So, how did you at school today, boy?'' Xynos asks. ''Good. Uh, I made a painting.'' He replies. He points at the fridge to show his painting. Xynos turns to look at it. ''Looks awful. I can't even see what it is.'' He says. Matthias's eyes turn watery, yet he clearly tries not to cry. However, the poor boy has a hard time fighting his tears and one rolls down his cheek, right down into his food. Xynos notices it and stomps his fist on the table and starts to yell at him again. ''YOU'RE A VIRION AND VIRIONS DON'T CRY!''.

Now Matthias starts to sob. When Xynos grabs him by the scruff and pulls him closer so he can continue yelling right into his face, something snaps in Loki. ''STOP IT, NOW!'' Loki yells at him, as she can't take it any longer to see her little pup being mistreated like that. Her ears are pinned back and she bares her teeth at Xynos. Xynos gets up and walks over to her to grab her by the neck, and starts to repeatedly hit her in the face, and then he smacks her against the table with full force. Matthias starts to scream from fear as he witnesses everything. Xynos turns around and tries to grab Matthias, but he misses. Matthias flees to his room to hide under his bed, and trying to keep quiet. Xynos has followed him upstairs, but he doesn't try to grab him this time. Instead, he kicks one of his toys toward his bed, hoping that it will hit him, but it doesn't. Then he just angrily turns around and shuts the door with a loud bang. Matthias is so scared that he decides to stay where he is, but he feels safe enough to cry now, but softly, because his father might hear him, and then he'll get hit with the belt for sure. When he returns to the kitchen, Xynos sees Loki standing up and looking for her glasses, as Xynos has ripped it off of her face. She whimpers and crouches with her tails between her legs when she sees his blurry silhouette. Her face is covered in blood and her left eye looks swollen. Xynos picks up her glasses and it back to her. ''Go wash your face. And come sit with me in the living room once you're done.'' He instructs her. When Loki's face is cleaned up again, she does as Xynos told her. She cautiously enters the living room and takes a seat on the sofa. Xynos didn't talk to her for the rest of the evening.

The next day, after she brought Matthias to school, Loki is cleaning the house. While vacuuming the living room, she's planning to finally escape out of this hell, and taking Matthias with her. But how? Just trying to get a divorce isn't possible due to the ridiculous laws of coronaviruses... unless... Then she walks past the calendar and notices the text she wrote on one specific day. ''Cecil turns 5 years old!!!'' it reads. She totally forgot about her son's upcoming birthday due to what happened last evening. But remembering it makes her feel a bit more happy again. She thinks about what to buy for him this time. Everyone gives him toy cars or toy weapons already. The cars he seems to like somewhat, but not at all the weapons. Then she remembers that he asked for a stuffed animal when he turned four, but didn't got it because Xynos thinks that stuffed animals are only for girls and that they'd make 'his' son too soft. Matthias is such kindhearted little boy, Loki doesn't want him being ruined by their kind's belief that virions don't cry and their 'male supremacy' propaganda. Loki decides to secretly buy a stuffed toy for Matthias.

She goes to the toy store after she's done cleaning the house. While about to leave the territory, she's halted by one of the guards at the gate. ''Where are you going, Your Highness?'' He asks. ''I'm going to the city.'' Loki replies. The guard nods and then opens the gate for her. Loki takes a bus to the city, and once there, she gets off it and looks around for the toy store. She can only spend the little bit of money that Xynos gave her 'to buy herself something fun', but she should be able to buy a stuffed toy for Matthias with it. She enters the toy store and looks around a bit. Then her eyes fall on a green long-necked dinosaur. She picks it up to look at the price card. ''Ah, I can buy this one.'' She thinks to herself as she looks at the price. Loki walks to the counter and places both the toy and the money on it. The elderly H5N1 influenzavirus virion behind it takes the money and counts it just to be sure, then he asks if it is a present. But, as he looks at her beaten face, his expression seems shocked. ''My, what happened to you, dearie?'' He asks. ''Accident.'' Loki awkwardly replies. ''Oh, you poor thing. That must've hurt so badly.'' He says as he shakily wraps the dinosaur in colorful paper. Then he puts it in a bag and hands it to Loki. ''Thank you.'' Loki says before she walks out of the toy store. Once back home, Loki sticks a label that reads 'For Matthias' on the toy. She herself uses the she gave him whenever she's alone with him, but both play along when in the presence of Xynos's family. Then she goes upstairs to hide the toy somewhere, until she can give it to Matthias.

Matthias's birthday falls on a Monday, so luckily Xynos is off to work and Loki can safely give the toy to her son when he comes back from school. ''Happy birthday, sweetie!'' She says happily as she hands him the colorful package. Matthias rips open the paper with his small, but sharp claws and pulls out the dinosaur. His golden-yellow eyes widen of delight when he realizes what he got from his mother. ''Finally, a stuffed animal! I like him! Thank you Mama!'' He squeals as he jumps up and down while also hugging his mother. ''I'm glad you like him.'' Loki says. She sits down on the sofa and watches Matthias as he's playing with his new toy, which he named WeeWee. After a few hours, Xynos suddenly enters the living room. Matthias usually flees to his room before his father returns from work, but he didn't do that this time because he didn't hear the sound of the car due to the radio playing. He now flees to Loki instead and she can feel him shivering from fear as he tightly clings to her. Xynos turns off the radio and then turns to Loki. ''You're home early.'' Loki says. ''Well, yeah. It's my son's birthday.'' Xynos explains. Xynos never comes home early, not even for Matthias's birthday! So why now out of a sudden? Loki feels like there's some evil force around this place and it's clearly on Xynos's side. Then Xynos notices that Matthias is hiding something. He drags him away from his mother and rips his new toy out of his paw. He begs his father to give it back as he desperately tries to reach for his toy. Xynos looks at it and then back at Matthias. ''Who gave you this rubbish, boy?'' He asks. Matthias is too scared to answer or even look his father in the eyes, so he looks down and starts to rubs his paws. Xynos moves his head closer to Matthias. ''ANSWER ME, BOY! WHO GAVE YO-''. Then Loki gets up and faces Xynos. ''I did!'' She says. ''Hm! Just what I thought!''. Xynos puts out his cigarette and then walks to the kitchen. He throws the toy away in the bin and then returns to the living room. Loki expects him to beat her up again, but instead the virion takes off his belt and instructs Matthias to take off his shirt. Loki gasps as she realises what Xynos is going to do. ''He didn't do anything wrong! I did! You should hit me, not him!'' Loki screams, hoping to save her poor son. ''He didn't answer me.'' Xynos says. He starts to repeatedly hit the pup on the back with the belt, until he starts to bleed. Matthias screamed from pain and tries to flee but his father drags him back in place. Something snaps in Loki again and she jumps on Xynos, letting her fangs sink into his neck. She's growling loudly while she shakes her head. Xynos whimpers, but quickly grabs Loki by her arms. He manages to remove her from his neck and forcefully smacking her headfirst against the wall, instantly knocking her unconscious. Then he realizes that Matthias has fled. Xynos runs to the main hall to find the front door wide open.

Matthias is running as fast and long as he can. He spots his grandparents and decides to run toward them. ''Grandpa, Grandma! Help me! Help me!'' He cries. Anthony and Mary turn around in surprise. ''What's the matter, dear?'' Mary asks in concern. ''Why aren't you wearing a sh-''. Mary gasps when she touches her grandson's back and notices the blood on her paw when she retreats her arm. ''CECIL!!! COME OVER HERE!!!'' Xynos yells. Matthias screams and tries to hide behind his grandparents. Xynos quickly changes the tone in his voice once he sees his parents. ''What is happening here? Why is our grandson's back all bloody?'' Anthony asks.

''Loki went rabid out of a sudden and she attacked Cecil. I... tried to stop her but then she bit me too. See?'' He explains as he shows the bite wound in his neck.

''He's lying! Mama is always friendly and she never hits me. He always does! Mama bit him because she protected me!'' Matthias desperately squeaks from behind Anthony.

Anthony and Mary stare at Xynos, with their ears pinned back. ''You're only five Cecil. Your little kiddie brain doesn't understand why your Mama went all crazy at you. Now, come to Daddy.'' Xynos says.

Matthias cries and begs his grandparents not to return him to his father. Luckily for him, both Anthony and Mary don't quite trust the whole situation thanks to his reaction to his father. Anthony orders some knights to go inside Xynos's house to search for Loki. They come back with Loki, carrying her given she's unwell. ''What did you do to her?'' Anthony asks Xynos. ''I threw her off when she bit me. Didn't realise she might've hit her head on something.'' He replies. He's excessively rubbing his nose because he doesn't really know how to come down from the situation anymore. Then one knight hold up Xynos's belt that he found on the living room floor. ''There's blood on it.'' He says. Anthony decides to take them all back to his palace. Once there, Loki and Matthias are being treated by a doctor, while Xynos is being taken to the courtroom for further interrogation.

Loki is laying in a bed, with a massive headache, and feeling all dizzy and nauseous. Matthias sits on a chair near his mother. He's crying because the deep slash wounds on his back are hurting. The doctor gives both of them a medicine that will ease the pain. ''How are they doing?'' Mary asks. ''Princess Loki has a concussion, young Prince Matthias needed stitches for one of the wounds. Just a tad bit. They'll be alright.'' The doctor replies. ''I just can't believe that MY son did this to them. Specially not to a defenseless child.'' Mary says. She thanks the doctor before the latter leaves the room, then she sits down next to Matthias. ''Will Mama be better?'' He sobs. ''Of course, dear. She just needs to rest.'' Mary reassures him. She wants to stroke his cheek, but he flinches from her touch. Though, he quickly sits upright again once he realizes that it doesn't hurt at all. He must've been in shock for a while to flinch like that from even the slightest touch, but he seems to be calming down now. ''You and Mama are going to stay here for a while. '' Mary says. ''What about Father? Is he going to jail?'' Matthias asks. ''Uh... no, we don't turn in our own family, but he'll have to sit in the Penalty Building for a few days as punishment.'' Mary replies. Matthias seems unsatisfied with that answer, but Mary tries to cheer him up by offering him a game of backgammon. Meanwhile, Loki is softly sobbing as she too heard Mary's answer, and knows that Xynos most likely will try to get to her and her son when he's free again.
